Regulations
It seems like everything everyone does is subject to regulations today. They are even trying to regulate dust. I don't see how that is going to work. Maybe they will figure out at way to make it rain and the wind stop blowing.

A Little Rain
There were some rain showers that moved through parts of the state yesterday and day. I don't think it is a trend yet but it has been a welcome relief. Most places only got about one or two tenths of an inch, but when it has been months since you have even seen a rain cloud, it was wonderful!!

Repeat
It is beginning to seem like each day is a repeat of the last. The fire today was north east of town and was really big. Before I even left to help the firefighters, you could see lots of smoke from town. They even called in helicopters to help fight this one.

VFD
I went to the local meeting of the volunteer fire department tonight to see about joining so I can try to help out on a regular basis. Lots of these men have been battling fires several days a week for the past three or four months. I know they are really tired so I thought I would see if I could lend them an extra hand.

Monday's Fire
We had another fire about five miles southeast of town today. They managed to contain it to burning in pasture land but it is getting to be a routine part of the day for there to be a fire somewhere around. I know the ones around Austin got all of the publicity a week or so ago but the numbers of them around here is certainly increasing.
